This movie is based on an inspiring true story and best-selling non-fiction book. In 1998, millionaire art dealer, Ron Hall, a father of two, promised he’d do anything to win back his wife Debbie, who volunteered at Fort Worth’s Union Gospel Mission. Debbie challenged him to befriend Denver (Suicide) Moore, the scariest man on the block, an African-American homeless man, raised under plantation-style slavery in Louisiana, whose years of hardship have left him distrustful of everyone.
Gritty with pain and betrayal and brutality, this raw and real true story also shines with an unexpected, life-changing love. It has the potential to engage people in building real-life relationships with people who are DIFFERENT … BUT REALLY THE SAME. It is a powerful example of the healing, restorative power of forgiveness and the transformation life-changing power of unconditional love.
